# 4.3 Value Accrual Mechanism

The AUTON token accrues value through various mechanisms designed to drive demand and reduce supply:

#### A. Demand Generation

The utility of AUTON tokens in accessing services and participation in governance ensures a consistent demand for the token.

#### B. Staking

The holders can stake AUTON tokens to earn rewards, effectively reducing the circulating supply of tokens and increasing the value of the remaining tokens.

#### C. Burning Mechanism

A fraction of the tokens used to pay for services on the Autonomy platform are 'burned' or permanently removed from circulation, thus reducing the total supply of tokens and driving up the value of existing tokens.

#### D. Token Vesting

Tokens allocated to the team and early contributors are subjected to vesting schedules to prevent sudden influxes of tokens into the market.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://beta.docs.autonomy.network/4.-auton-token-a-comprehensive-overview-utility-and-value-accrual/4.3-value-accrual-mechanism.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
